Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A. introduces new stand-up rider lift trucks

Thursday, 29 Jul 2004
IRVINE, Calif., United States - Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc. (TMHU), the leading lift truck supplier in the United States, today introduced its new 7-Series Electric Stand-Up Rider Counterbalance lift trucks. Available in 3,000 lb. to 5,000 lb. capacities, the new line is exceptionally rugged and durable while providing technological advancements and ergonomic enhancements that reduce noise, improve performance and increase operator comfort.
Built on a heavy-duty 5,000 lb. chassis, Toyota's new Stand-Up Rider lift trucks feature independent, function-specific motors for optimum performance. These separate, task-specific motors operate more efficiently than multi-purposed single motor configurations. They operate cooler by generating less heat and provide the operator with greater control and quieter operations. This rugged new line is well-suited to the demands of manufacturing environments, general warehousing and storage, retail operations and all applications requiring a dock-to-stock truck.
"Toyota's new 7-Series Stand-Up Rider lift trucks combine the latest in transistor technology and ergonomics, creating a lift truck with outstanding performance, productivity and operator comfort, which translates into superior value for our customers," said Cesar Jimenez, TMHU electric product planning manager.
While Toyota's new Stand-Up Rider lift trucks feature a heavy-duty design, many ergonomic features were created to increase operator comfort for enhanced productivity. The spacious operator compartment features a flexible side stance position to maximize comfort and improve load handling visibility when traveling either in forward or reverse. A multifunction control handle simplifies operation by allowing single-handed control of the travel, lift/lower, tilt, horn and optional sideshifter functions. An ERGOMAT® floor pad helps absorb floor vibrations to minimize foot and ankle fatigue, and lean points such as the backrest and armrest are cushioned to improve operator comfort and productivity. For applications that require constant on and off, the low eight-inch step height eases the frequently required operator entry and exits.
The new line of 7-Series Stand-Up Rider lift trucks incorporates the latest in industry-leading technology to enhance performance and handling. The Separately Excited (SEPEX) drive motors and Transistor Control System deliver smooth speed and torque control, loaded or unloaded, for precise positioning of the lift truck. An interactive, multifunction digital display allows quick and easy programmability of the travel and hydraulic functions to meet a wide range of job applications and operator skill levels. With illuminated icons and scrolling messages, the display also informs the operator of vital truck operating information for maximum uptime.
Several ease-of-service features are designed to simplify routine maintenance such as a built-in analyzer with self-diagnostics to expedite trouble-shooting. A one-piece top cover is easily removed to provide access to major components, reducing service time during inspections and maintenance. Transmission, brake and drive motor units are vertically mounted near the exterior of the chassis for improved accessibility. A programmable maintenance indicator notifies operators of planned maintenance and service needs through the digital display. A built-in analyzer with self-diagnostics checks critical functions at start-up and eliminates the need for an external hand-held analyzer.
