RAVAS introduces RWV Autonome RF weighing system for forklifts

Tuesday, 1 Jun 2004
RAVAS Europe, producer of mobile weighing systems, introduces the RWV Autonome RF: a set of weighing forks for fork lift trucks, with communication between forks and weight indicator by radio transmission. No cabling is necessary, therefore the system is quickly and easily installed, and failures caused by broken cables are a thing of the past. Any load lifted with these weighing forks is weighed instantly.

The RWV Autonome RF is a variation on the concept of the successful RWV Autonome. This weighing system, which has the indicator mounted on top of the left fork and a battery on top of the right fork, has the advantage that it functions completely independent from the lift truck, that it can be mounted within minutes and is easily exchangeable. In order to combine these advantages with an indicator within reach of the driver in the cabin of the truck, the RWV Autonome RF was developed. The signal from the forks is now communicated to the indicator by radio transmission. To avoid interference between different trucks, each indicator has its own address, ensuring that each system communicates with its own indicator only.

On the weighing indicator in the cabin, the fork lift driver can read off the weight, enter a tare weight for a pallet or container, add up weighings to a total weight per shipment or order, and print out a ticket with the weighing data. Both the indicator and the forks have their own rechargeable battery, which has an autonomy of 30 working hours. The forks are equipped with a movement sensor that switches off the weighing system when the fork lift is not moving. The weighing system is very accurate: the maximum error is 0.1% of the applied load.

The RWV Autonome RF is part of an extensive range of weighing systems for fork lift trucks that RAVAS offers: next to this system there is a weighing system based on oil pressure measurement for applications where high accuracy is not required, weighing forks for legal or trade weighing, with printer or data communication if so desired, and a weighing carriage plate for weighing in combination with rotators, clamps etc. RAVAS also supplies weighing hand pallet trucks, weighing systems on electrical pallet trucks, stacker trucks and order picking vehicles. RAVAS is European market leader in the field of mobile weighing.
