NISSAN, ATLET LINK UP IN UK

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands
Thursday, 11 Dec 2003
Nissan Forklift Europe BV and Atlet AB of Sweden have expanded their cross-branding relationship into UK warehouse products.

Under an agreement signed in June 2002, both companies began cooperating in France. Now Atlet will supply warehouse products under Nissan's label to Nissan's UK distributor, Nissan Motor Ltd.

Atlet and Nissan's German distributor, Fendt Fordertechnik GmbH, this year signed a distribution agreement for Atlet's other brand, Lafis. Atlet would also market Nissan's counterbalanced forklifts in Germany, a statement said.

Atlet, founded in Sweden in 1958, has an annual turnover of EUR175 million (USD214 million). Atlet manufactures electric warehouse equipment in Mölnlycke, Sweden, and Oberhausen, Germany, for distribution in more than 30 countries.

Nissan's forklift business was founded in 1957 and has global sales of more than EUR600 million (USD733 million) a year. Nissan forklifts, manufactured in Japan, USA and Spain, are distributed in more than 80 countries.
