TOYOTA TRACTORS LEAD AUSSIE FEDERATION CELEBRATION PARADES
Sydney, Australia Thursday, 12 Apr 2001
SYDNEY, Australia -- Eight Toyota tow tractors will play a prominent role in Australia's major Centenary of Federation parades this year.
They will tow eight massive floats which celebrate the birth of the modern Australian nation.
The tractors, supplied by Toyota's industrial equipment division (IED), are the latest TD25 models which can tow up to 39 tonnes each or up to 49 tonnes in trains of two or more.
In the Melbourne Parade on May 6 they will perform parade duties towing floats weighing an average of 10 tonnes each.
Toyota Australia president Mr Ken Asano said the celebrations acknowledged Australia's historic achievements, and the future direction of the nation.
Toyota’s IED has operated in Australia since 1968, offering a range of tow tractors, forklifts and skidsteers. Mr Asano said Toyota had been the forklift market leader in Australia for the past 13 years.
