DHI FORKLIFTS ON COURSE FOR RAPID EXPORT GROWTH IN EUROPE
Weisbaden, Germany Thursday, 12 Apr 2001
PARIS, France -- Daewoo Heavy Industries & Machinery (DHI) received US$6 million of orders for forklifts at Manutention 2001, an international trade fair held in Paris from March 13 to 16.
DHI fielded 11 forklift models during the exhibition and reported an expanded customer base in Europe as a result.
Manutention 2001, one of the three largest fairs for material handling equipment in Europe, featured 700-plus firms, including Toyota, Caterpillar and Linde, from 19 countries.
DHI reported a favourable response from fair participants for its forklift fleet, which included forklifts equipped with the OCD (oil cooled disc) brake system and other optional features currently highly in demand in Europe.
Riding on the popularity of the OCD brake forklift, DHI plans to boost its European market share of engine-powered forklifts by 2 percent to 7 percent by 2003.
