Seegrid adds engineering, laboratory space News Story - 17 Nov 2011 ( #540 ) - Pittsburgh, PA, United States 1 min read Robotic forklift maker Seegrid Corp has invested about USD260,000 to upgrade and equip 10,000 sqft. (4,500 sqm) in expanding its engineering laboratory, manufacturing space and offices. Seegrid moved into the additional quarters on 7 October. The expansion area is adjacent to an existing 30,000 sqft. (13,500 sqm) that Seegrid initially occupied on 14 December. The renovation work in a Pittsburgh area industrial park will expand Seegrid's evolving capabilities and efforts to bring robotic vision-guided technology to the materials handling industry. The space is located in the Park West master-planned industrial park development in North Fayette and Findlay townships. The private non-profit Regional Industrial Development Corporation of Southwestern Pennsylvania operates the park, fosters new employment opportunities and aims to diversify the region's economy.Seegrid technology can transform industrial vehicles into unmanned, automated pallet trucks and tow tractors that operate without a need for wire, tape, laser or other automated guided vehicle guidance systems.In addition to the Pittsburgh headquarters and production facility, Seegrid has an office in Lowell, Massachusetts. Seegrid established partnership relations with the Raymond Corp operation of Toyota Material Handling North America on 29 April and the Linde Material Handling GmbH & Co. KG subsidiary of the KION Group on 2 May.
