LINDE ACQUIRES BRAZILIAN MARKET LEADER IN MATERIALS HANDLING

WIESBADEN, Germany -- Linde AG has acquired the majority shareholding in Ameise Comérico e Indústria S.A., the leading manufacturer of warehouse equipment in Brazil.
Last year, Ameise achieved sales of about US$16 million. The company, with its large service and distribution network, offers the Linde Group ideal conditions through which to sell its range of counterbalance trucks.
With the acquisition of Ameise, the Linde Group intends to participate in the growing Brazilian forklift and warehouse truck market and extend its market position in South America. The acquisition is still to be approved by competition authoritie
