The new TCM USA Holdings Inc established company, TCM Distribution USA Inc (TDU), is now actively managing 55 TCM dealerships in 26 US states and the District of Columbia.

After 30 years, TCM has ended its marketing and distribution agreement with Mitsui Machinery Distribution Inc (Forkliftaction.com News #214).

TDU vice president and general manager Alex Shields said the move gave both companies a chance to focus and grow their individual businesses.

"The US materials handling industry is fast-paced and dynamic. Those market dynamics, combined with timely, positive corporate-level changes within TCM, have presented us with the opportunity to establish a new company using a modern marketing and distribution model that emphasises market penetration and market share increases," Shields said.

He said an important reason for basing TDU in New Jersey was the chance to transition experienced Mitsui personnel into the new company.

"We have been fortunate to hire from MMD Equipment [several] great people who worked exclusively on the materials handling side of Mitsui's business," Shields said.

"Our [new] employees are seasoned veterans, some having 30 years of experience and are eager to develop TCM Distribution USA into the go-to company for material handling solutions."
