Raymond Corporation and its dealer network are donating USD340,000 to help the victims of the Asian tsunamis.
The materials handling solutions provider and its dealers are fulfilling a commitment made in January to jointly donate USD200 for each electric rider truck and USD50 for each electric walkie pallet truck sold in January and February.
Raymond CEO and president James Malvaso said the company and its dealers hoped the contributions would help recipient charities maintain their efforts to aid the people in regions devastated by the Boxing Day tsunamis.
"We thank our customers who purchased Raymond trucks in January and February for their orders, which have enabled this effort," Malvaso said.
The contribution will be equally split between:
* Action Against Hunger - USA, which will assist tsunami recovery efforts for at least two years.
* International Rescue Committee Inc, which has a two-year program to help rebuild schools and health care facilities.
* AmeriCares Foundation, whose long-term program provides equipment and supplies to rebuild hospitals and clinics.
