The British Industrial Truck Association (BITA) annual golf day was a successful event, despite being cut short due to bad weather.

The winners of 2008 Golf Day, held at Moor Hall Golf Club in September, were CLT Vendor Finance [UK] Ltd, with Linde coming in second.

Competitors from EnerSys, Toyota Materials Handling, Continental Tyre Group and Watts Tyre Service played a shortened course after battling weather more suited to sailing.

James Clark, secretary general of BITA, says the 75 guests defied the weather. "They braved torrential rain and a waterlogged course to play 15 out of the usual 18 holes in the day's Stableford match play."

The winners were presented with prizes at a celebratory dinner attended by David Etheridge, club secretary, and Richard Close, BITA president.

"BITA would like to thank the club staff for working hard to ensure all guests had the best possible day," Clark says.
