I have an 08 Heli 5k lift. I had one of my drivers who claims to be an ace mechanic remove the flywheel weight and install the factory upgrade because the teeth kept breaking off from the ring gear. Anyway, when he put the engine back together with the transmission the machine will not move. I have a feeling that the pump is damaged inside of the transmission. I have removed the engine and the torque converter and I need to remove the trans from the differential. Do I need to remove the axle shafts or will the transmission come right out. Thanks for any and all help.

You will need to remove the half shafts. Did you check for any pressure before you removed the engine?

the engine was half way out anyway because we were changing the fly wheel ring gear.  But to get to the pump you only need to remove 9 bolts from that back of the trans input shaft.
The after service person from Heli feels that there is a broken gear in the charging pump. I removed the charging pump and I cant see how there could be any gears in it. It is more like a water pump with the impeller pressed in. But I cannot get in to it to see it.
