We have a 3 wheel Nissan with 2 Curtis 1244 controllers, we got 2 smh/flightsystems rebuilt controllers, and 2 rebuilt motors, and installed them, now we have drive on only 1 motor and controller in only reverse direction.  I have the power cables to the motors pulled out of the truck and on a bench, and can easily swap controller between the 2 motors, and can be sure that either motor, in either direction of rotation, works. and it is only with 1 of the new controllers in the left position that this machine operates. if that controller (or any of the older controllers) is in the right position, there is a moment after the accelerator is moved that it acts like it is trying to move, then it faults out with a 1-3 led flash code (field open) and the main contactor drops out, both directions of travel is the same.
I have also eyeballed (stripped the tape off and looked) at the control wiring under the battery box, but I have not stripped the rest of the wire harness.
Is this controller a known problem? is there something i may have missed in the setups for this truck? Have you had problems with rebuilt controllers in this range failing?
Does SMH or Flight system give support for this kind of problem or am I on my own.

I know nothing of this machine or the controllers but it may be woth looking at the signals from the steer wheel.  You have probablly already checked but normally a 3 wheel machine with two motors will have some sort of device (pot or switch card) for cutting and reversing the inside wheel when steering.  If this is sending the wrong signal to your controllers you may only get drive on one wheel.  There is also a chance that the controllers are not programmed correctly for 3 wheel two motor operation.

Controllers supposed to be 1244D. Probably you need to program them wright
