We have  Kalmar AC P50BXPS  584044A (2006?).  This machine has a K21 or K25 nissan motor, its a newer truck.

The problem we have is; when lifting (its a triple stage) the full free lift cylinder 4 or 5 feet a number of times, the secondary inner channel hoist cylinders also begin to push up the channels during free lift.

If I extend the mast fully up and bottom out the lift height, then drop the forks to the floor, the FFL cylinder works fine for a time. Before I repack the FFL cylinder is there something else to look at.

This machine is a Komatsu with red paint, can anyone provide me w/ a komatsu model and serial #

Thanks for any assistance,
The Spartan Warrior

there is a valve in the bottom of the free lift cylinder's piston ram that you also will need to replace.

are the carriage rollers binding up in the channel(do they turn when lifting or just slide up with carriage)? Maybe lube the channels so it rolls more easily. Just had a truck yesterday that did this, the inside of the first stage where the carriage rides was rusty and the carriage rollers were grabbing and pushing the first stage up along with it, used some inner lube(Clark PN# 886396) and greased the inside of the first stage and worked fine.

No, I think it would be in the valve, the carraige is free.  What kinda of confuses me though, is why does it ride ok after its elevated and punched up?  I'll check the valve thnaks guys.

Komatsu Model is FG25T-14 the s/n is a Komatsu serial number.  The truck should have a Lift-Tek mast on it and Edward T is dead on.  You have a problem in the cartridge valve in the bottom of the cylinder.
