Hello.
I'm also interested to know what's needed to swop a CNG forklift back to LPG. I live in Australia and wanting to bid on a forklift at auction...
Besides the gas canister itself what is needed to change over to LPG ?
Thankyou
Hi CLTL,
I have 2 Toyota 8FGU25 forklifts that have are running on CNG. Would you be able to share with me what it would take to switch them back to LPG? Thanks a lot for your help.
I saw this on ebay
https://www.ebay.com/itm/332429769974
Our company has a manufacturing account that is also thinking about changing all their forklifts from LP to NG.
Lifts are Cat Model # 2CC40004 and Mitsubishi Model # FGC15N
Please email with the kits for these forklifts.
hellokitty, it sounds like you recently purchased 1 of the 3 cat c5000's from the richie brothers auction considering your location.
Its pretty easy to change back to a typical LPG fuel system...its a matter of removing the tank and putting back the standard LGP tanks and changing back some of kits in the fuel system itself...we have done them before...email us if you would like
i have a forklift with CNG tank.
can you tell me what needs to be done / changed converting from CNG to LP ( on a Cat C5000)?
thanks in advance.
Sunbeam,
We do convert the forklifts to Lpg and Cng. But before getting into the converstion part, we would like to know the usage, type of application, type gradient if applicable.
Converting to Lpg and Cng is very precise job and minor tweking of engine also has to be done. its not straight fit as in Automobiles.
For further Info do drop me a email.
Rgds
The main drawback as stated is the the storage of CNG, as you need an onsite storage tank for this and need to ensure that you have a supplier who can maintain regular visits to refil.
CNG is ideal for large fleets and in general you would be better ordering from factory a machine CNG equipped, rather than the costs of aftermarket installation.
Folks, sunbeam is writing from India. I doubt the US regs apply. I suspect he/she has a reason for wanting to switch, although it was not stated.
By the way Toyota has a UL rated CNG powered forklift available in the US. CNG does have some following, as I understand it, in parts of Canade.
Reasons for considering CNG?
1) Lower fuel costs
2) Lower emmissions
3) Easy refueling (Less than two minutes)
4) No sacrifice in power
5) No LP cylinders to store or lug around
If interested, call your local Toyota dealer.
Happy Holidays!!
