Dear friend Normandy.
You in Ireland are confused.
I in Argentina more am confused!
Dealers of HELI are 3 that give to be dealers to officials, WWP looks for 2 representatives in Argentina, EP has dealers, plus other marks HC, HYTSU, BAOLI, MAXIMAL, DALIAN, ....... For my the owner of this handful is HELI, that makes fork lift with the mark that the client asks.

My problem is that I am still really no wiser as to who actually makes what,

A lot of Chinese trucks seem to be the same, just with different badges.

What do you actually make.

I think if you see any heli hangcha or any similar model I would turn around and speed the other way Rich

About 8 / 10 years ago I had about 30 or so of Heli units and they were OK, Almost all are still running.I have seen some other Chinese trucks that make me agree with your general sentiments,  However I have a need for a more economical line to satisfy people that just cannot justify the high price of premium lines. My problem was that when I  try to contact Heli I was getting passed over to other brands , some of which look very similar,

As I don't want a cheaper Heli copy I probably will end up following your advice an run the other direction.

Hi,

would you say the Heli Quality is good? would you compare it to a TCM or a Japanese machine?

Hi Ryan s,
CHINESE FORK LIFT WITH JAPANESE FORK LIFT IS NOT COMPARED.
HELI IS THE BEST ONE WITHIN THE CHINESE MARKET

If you want great quality and reliability try Artison! They're from Tailift in Taiwan.
Having imported trucks from Dalian, Irisman,Hangzhou (which were a real headache)and visited over 15 Chinese plants, you won't find better than Artison. We have placed trucks in really hard jobs and they just keep working.
They also make trucks for other European manufacturers.
A 5 star truck for 4 star prices (and spares are easy to find too!)

A "European Artisan" may be possible but who are they..

In theory there is an Artisan dealer nearby so that is not on.

Were they not an offspring of the Yang/Puma people from Taiwan ?

ARTISON a trading style of Tailift of Taiwan. They have solid dealers in Europe especially in the UK ,Italy and Germany. They are not resultant of of Puma/Yang, in fact the company that emerged from Puma Yang is now called LS Yang building for the local Taiwan market and a little export. Artison/Tailift are now in the top twenty of manufacturers worlwide.Other Tailift brands are Arctic Hare, Eagle, Gpower with OEM manufacturers like Narrow Aisle, Liftking, Hubtex and OMG utilising their quality and price to achieve repeat business, unlike some of the chinese factories.

Thanks RTD

I was not aware of that.

It is just that your machines look different to any Tailift  machine I have seen, Tailift  look more like Nexen.  Hubtex have a good reputation here for sideloaders etc but that market is now tiny. A hubtex counterbalance might sell.

Hi All,

Assuming that those Hangcha forklifts use Nissan engines, I am ok with that, what I am concerned about is the quality of the transmissions.
I am looking at a 5 ton unit from Hangcha, it comes with a Chinese built Trans.
How durable are these transmissions? We will give it good service, the question is just how long before it breaksdown.
I know that Tailift is recommended but at this time, I have to choose between heli and Hangcha.
The unit will be used in rental with usage of approx. 160 hours per month.
