Hi again Max...now that you have the entire ser # it should be easy to get the info you wanted from a local dealer. The "AF" in the ser.# might point to the factory in Atlanta USA where it was built. The 685 model was an 8000 lbs cap. build but with attachments and/or fork extensions could be greatly reduced to 6000lbs That old tank will lift far more than rated so be careful when pushing the limit. My guess for your truck is 1971, Let me know.

Having stripped about 30 years of paint away, I found the following number:
Y6850325SAF2342.
No body can sure for the same. but you just go through the dealer of the that particular product and get the exact detail for the same. might be detail display on the trucks what "fergie said"
Hi Max , I'm not sure where your getting that serial # from as it's like no other I have seen. Clark , to the best of my knowledge, have not used a 6 banger since the late 70's early 80's. Depending on the real ser. # it should start y 685 or 685 depending if it's a yard truck or not. The next 4 # are the ser. # of the truck and the last 4#'s the lot # that will tell the dealer the actual year of build. Look on the right hand side of the truck frame just about where you would step up on the truck. They either stamped it there or if it's a real old girl and has a generator with the power steering running off it the number is stamped on the frame under the swing out battery. I'm assuming this is a flat head Continental engine we're talking about.
Good luck , Fergie
You might contact a clark dealer. I contacted them about my clark lift and they were able to give me the original spec sheet were it was delivered.
