Chris,
After reading the post, I think it is good somebody has started a testing program, not sure it is a goverments place or not, but that is another subject to start !
After you pass your test, Find a dealer that offers an apprentist program that will allow you to cross train in I.C. and Electric and specialize in the field of your choice or aptitude.
I have been in the field 33 years and hope to remain here until I retire or can't go any more.
Above all, remain open-minded concerning new technology and advancements in the field. Too many older guys packed up their tools and left because they would not attempt to try and work with a laptop ( I tried to train a few at my dealership and hated to see them go with all the knowledge they possesed !!)
Good Luck Young Man !!!
Chris,
if you are looking at Yale product recommend you check with any Yale Industrial trucks (YIT) dealership. There is one in the Ontario area. If you prefer Hyster brand, recommend contacting any Wajax dealership.
