Correct me if I am wrong here...Its my understanding that steer axles are rated to factory specs? Will you cover the cost if the customer breaks an axle? Due to safety I never add weight unless its approved by the manufacture.

I was comenting on the guy worried about the manufacturing specs of the steer axle.Used parts or cwt's is what i do, and understand fulley what you do. can you make or have patterns for any make and model? i have customers calling looking for cwt's all the time, and some of what they are looking for are realy hard to find and it may or may not be justifiable to purchase one of yours with frt. but it may be worth looking into.

Dear Dave
Lead is simply too expensive!
1 Metric Ton Lead around 1400 USD
1 Metric Ton Steel around 650 USD
On top you have probably an issue with environmental guidelines since lead is toxic regardless of Battery or Diesel truck.
We checked that some time ago and it was not viable.
Regards
Holzy

The concept of lead counterweight and quote unguote "neutrilized' nuclear waste filled fabricated counterweight shells (with an imbedded homing device - just in case it wasn't neutralized enough) has been kicked around for at last 40 years.  It all makes a nice story but  practically it doesn't go to far except for special applications.
