Hi All.
I am having a problem with traction with a EV-100 chopper controller;

the problem still remains after;
1- Card changed (very same type)
2- I've changed the REC-2 as wel as Rec5
3- I pull in 1-a and a directional contactor and motor operate fine, power section has been discarded.
4- voltage at TB-1 3.7 VCD, 2,3,4 36.5 VCD
5- Rec-1 tested and looks fine.
6- Cap. has been verified and operates well.

Any other sugestion to follow it up?

Regards,

Luis

Hi Luis.

What is the problem?  What is the truck doing or not doing?

Hi Roldann,

Yes it is the original failure, at the time I want to go forward or reverse the directional contactors just make 'click" twice and it does not move.

i've changed 2-rec and 5-rec, control board, Cap was tested ok as well as 1-rec, 3-4 rec are ok.

I do not know what to do at this time, I have done the above listed actions without success.

Any help is well appreciated it.

Luis

Hi Luis 2 common faults on the EV100 units when the recs are ok is either the snubers are faulty or the pins on the logic connector have gone loose and pushed back.  Also there is a connection under the snubbers which i think comes off the  capacitor which can go loose, just may need tightening up.

What i usually do is swap the snubbers around if i do not have any spare with me and see if the fault codes change, sometimes just swapping them around can cure the faults.

the "double click" is usually a result of the "look ahead" circuit looking to check to see if number 5 rec will turn on correctly before firing the number 2 rec for the first time.
I would want to know what the voltage is at "T2" on the chopper panel before starting further troubleshooting.
