the thread a bout when some thing is removed it must be true is a clear case how we should all worry a bout what and who we can talk a bout. I read most of the threads on this site and make my own mind up about what is said. Many threads are about one company or another and most are about bad news. But these companies don't stop the threads .If they were to take the example of a UK company then no one could say anything at all .all these companies are quite big and much larger than this UK company but yet they are so scared of what gets writen about them they have it stopped what if all the bigger companies were to do the same ware would we be no one could say anything without it being checked first. You would not be able to ask about any company  or product.

First of all Dave,  Realise this!  I was almost taken to court for the truth that I posted on here,  Dont feel bad that certain unsavoury things arent posted or allowed to be on a forum.
I will give this site a thumbs up when it came to my own spot where I vented my frustrations and gave my story in here.
I must say that the UK is in itself a country of self serving assholes that run companies like they are MP's here that get away with anything.

Do not be dismayed about any crap that you think you cannot state your case as the freedom of expression is still alive and well in the UK.

If you wish to make a statement regarding any UK company then first look at the validity of the claims that you make.   If they are true!  you have proof!  then go for it!

in the good old USA, a few years back, Oprah Winfrey had to pay out over 3 mill in legal fees, that she will not get back, and she won.
what did she win?
She won the right to say she won't eat beef.
I blame the Attorneys, what is that joke? what do you call a bus load of attorneys going off a cliff?
a good start?

We strive for open and informed debate, but unfortunately, this forum also has legal obligations and restrictions. Because defamation laws differ in the various markets we reach, we need to adopt a "lowest common denominator" approach and err on the side of cuation. This is not only for out protection, but also to prevent posters from being sued.
Please bear in mind that the removal of threads or their closure does not automatically mean the content is true - or false. And remember also that truth alone is no defence against defamation action.

Adding to your thread of not bringing things to light .what happens if you know a company is working unsafe they know it you know it but you carn`t say it any more because they have lots of money to spend on lawyers so you carn`t do anything about it. Is this a world we are going to live in because unfortunately this is now. If I had unlimited funds I could tell you a tale of blatant disregard for rules and regs and health and safety. Why you ask so you can penny pinch and look go in front of your customers.
This is not right it is illegal and dangerous but nothing will get done A. because the manager saved x amount of pounds this month.
And B. because the customer has no idea.

Re legal action. A large part of my work is related to legal cases. If you are stating the truth and you have proof that usually protects you.
I find that when big companies threaten me, stating you're happy to go to court, that you won't be paying for legal representation (they can't run you out of money with legal fees), and that you will ensure the media is present in court, results in no further action

On the matter of companies that are operating unsafely, the best thing to do is to send them letters - more than one - to management and OHS - and copy the letter to the OHS authorities. In the letter use the words "allege" "prima facie" ... and similar to protect yourself. I have done this several times, though you never know if it changes anything.
