Clark ESM15 Low forward speed

Hi Everyone!
I am having problems with forward speed in this Clark ESM15, at the time I want to go fast it is not, backward is noticed be good. Can somebody tell me what parameter need to be checked with the handset? is it there something elese can be involved beside EV100 MK Board? Let me know and Thank you in advance - Luis

Hi Luis
Are you getting the rite signal to TB1 of the EV100 logic, it should start at about 3.7 volt and go down to 0 volts when the foot pedal is fully down.

Hello Shane,

You mean test between 5-6 on TB1 right? I will check for that voltage and will tell you about. Regards, Luis

Hi Luis
There are 6 screw terminal connectors on the EV100 logic which are numbered 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 the top row are 1 to 3 left to right and the bottom row are 4 to 6 left to right , so you need to check the top row left terminal TB1 (the one next to the small 6 pin plug) with your your posative meter lead and your negative meter lead on the heat sink with the large diodes on it (Negative). Hope this makes sense

Hi Luis
You need to check this voltage before any other tests, if the voltage at TB1 dos not go down to 0 Volts you will not get full speed. If that isn't the fault I will give you some more checks.

Hi shane,

long delay to let you know hwat I did get;
1- I checked the volatage betwwen (1) and negative pole and it reads 4.7 V
2- I try to adjust to 3.7 V without success, potentiometer spinning all around without any stop.
3- potentiometer only contain two wires (insetad of three Crown reference)
4- I do not have any reference how to get a new potentiometer to start over

Any help is really appreacited it.

Hi Luis. I have the same problem with a Crown RR before. Point at 4.7V is ok. Directional Contactor comes in at 3.7V i.e. when you depressed the pedal. If you have lost the reference of the pot. all you do is to set the dead point at 5000 ohms and when you depressed the pedal fully it should be around zero ohms Please check on the contactor tips to see that they are properly connected. If this is ok try to fit a new No. 3 REC. Hope this info help.

Does the potentiometer is only two leads? Crown is three, right?
can I assume It has the right pot?

I don't know the wiring on your truck but EV100 controllers are often run with a 2 wire pots, one wire is connected to TB1 and the other wire is connected to battery negative.
Richard is rite you need to do a resistance check across the 2 pot wires you should get a resistance of about 5k Ohms to zero but it is only over about 25 degrees of pot movement so fit the pot in the foot pedal turn the pot until it reads about 5k lock the pot in that position and then check that you get about zero Ohms with the pedal rite down.

When we are testing for voltage at tb1, we also need to see what the voltage goes down to at full accel, both forward and rev..
you almost without a doubt have the linkage from the control handle to the pot out of adjustment.

I will consider to move throttle forward and backward to verify let said a 'balance' moving it and, double check not 'skipped' voltage as long as it be moved.

Will tell you about my findings.

Now, I am still having problems with 1-A contactor at the time i try to get full speed. it just not got energized. can anybody tell me whta to check?
