Discussion:  CAT GC25K Runs Rich- No Throttle Response

Hello,
I checked out the previous reports on this site for no throttle response. Has any one had problems with the electronic throttle and converter???? Do you need a analyzer to set the controls ???? If so do i have to contact the dealer.???? The unit runs great at the start but then starts to smell and have no throttle response. would it be easier to install a simple cable throttle and impco conversion kit. Looking for some advice.....good or bad....this unit is making my hair thin and gray.

you need the SG15 laptop kit
the ECM is a little black box next the battery below the right side support for the overhead guard?

i had one do the same exact thing about 2 months ago
(mitsu FG18K) same system
thats an emissions compliant model
here in the US reverting it would break some laws
idk about up there

after watching it on the laptop i swapped the ECM  and it cleared the issue
but then it was breaking up under load occasionally
i went to go look at it but it ran fine for me (figures)
i didnt get back to solve that b4 i quit though and the guy is too far to realistically service him on my own

Thanks justinm, I suspected that. Yes it is against the law to change it over here in Canada. I am assuming that i have to go to the dealer to purchase the software and cable hook up or does anyone sell it aftermarket???????

Teir 1 system make sure plugs wires and cap are good. Then chek vacume lines Clean or replace vaporizer clean out carb and replace diaphram in top.That will fix 90% of these trucks.Havent put the laptop on one in over a year.
You lose throttel over a o2 sensor code that tells ecu it is to rich.Goodtune up first then worry about program
