Chinese built Doosan

Does anyone know about the Chinese built Doosan. It is suppose to be same lift that they use to build for Cat. i.e. V50

Doosan is not built in China, at least Doosan's that are sold in the US are not built in China they are built in Korea. The trucks are nothing like the old V50 Cats except for maybe the similarities with the drive train. The new Doosans use Hyundai engines and are really a truck to themselves, no copying. I'm not a big Doosan fan but I would still rate them in the top ten for sure with "American" forklifts. (i.e. Toyota, Cat, Nissan, TCM, etc.)

Daewoo(now Doosan) hasn't built a truck for CAT in over 10 years. As soon as Mitsubishi bought Caterpillar's forklift division(now MCFoA),they dropped Daewoo.

I guess I stated my questions wrong. Let me try again. We are a Doosan dealer. The word we heard from Doosan is that they are coming out with a Chinese built lift. It will be built on the same type platform as the old Daewoo's and will be offered to Doosan dealers in the US if they are not currently selling a Chinese line of lift trucks. I was just asking if anyone had more details. Thanks

Response to etharp: Have you heard anything about CAT bringing MITSUBISHI "in house" so to speak so they can sell them as alternative to be able to broaden their market? Maybe just a rumour.

2B1C (2 brands 1 channel) is mits new program to get dealers to have both lines. Several dealers that were mits only have lost out due to this. Also mits is cutting down on models to "encourage" this move. It really effected us when I was with a mits dealer.

We at Liftcom are Hyundai dealer. Are you already selling the Doosan model equiped with the Hyundai Beta Engine?
Did You notice how our model 25 L-7 is similar with the new Doosan? Do You have used the FTD Tool to reset the ignition module of the engine?

Apparently nobody has answered your question. Doosan has begun to produce a machine built in China that is a less expensive model that their G5 series. Currently, it is only available with a diesel engine and looks just like the G3 series, just built china. By the end of 2008, they will have a LPG version.

Doosan has their regular G5 line of lift trucks, and a less expensive model called the D25G series.

Hi, thats true that DOOSAN produce forklifts in china. But only GX series. There are 6 forklifts: G20G, G25G, G30G (LPG) and D20G, D25G, D30G (Diesel). There are little diferences between PRO 5 series and GX series (Engines, placing levers, etc.)

Just a little input on the Doosan engine from a technical standpoint. The Bottom end is Hyundai, Doosan designed their own head for it that produces 10 more horsepower than the Hyundai. Also since the purchase of Bobcat by Doosan there is supposed to be some less expensive hybrid between the two companies to come out of China sometime in the near future also.
