Queensland Manufacturing Technologies Expo

Australia, Brisbane - 19th to 21st October 2004
The organizers state: Research conducted in the Manufacturing industry has lead to the launch of the Queensland Manufacturing Technology Exhibition (QMan), which will be held in Brisbane in October 2004.

Queensland has a dynamic, broadly based economy that outperformed the rest of Australia over most of the 1990s. The manufacturing industry is a dominant contributor to the QLD economy, both directly and indirectly and the QLD manufacturing industry has grown more rapidly than the rest of Australia over the last ten years.

The Queensland Government is committed to maintaining a profitable, sustainable and technology-orientated manufacturing industry in Queensland. The Queensland Government 'Smart State - World Class Manufacturing' project targets key issues and opportunities for growth in some of Queensland's strongest and strategically important manufacturing sectors.

The inaugural QMan is based on the successful formula of ¡®shows within a show¡¯ that has been developed for National Manufacturing Week. However, rather than branding the individual ¡®shows¡¯, they will take the form of "pavilions" and include the following industry sectors:

Logistics and Materials Handling
